YOUR TASKS

- Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies for mobile robotic systems (wheeled and legged), including chassis, sensor mounts, drivetrain mechanisms, and protective enclosures
- Optimise existing designs for series production, taking into account all the relevant constraints and inputs (product requirements, industrial design, user experience, target COGS, etc.)
- Create detailed 3D models and assemblies using CAD software (e.g., Fusion360 or Autodesk Inventor)
- Work closely with engineers to fabricate and test prototypes, ensuring mechanical designs meet performance, durability and safety requirements
- Perform stress analysis, weight optimization, and durability testing to improve the performance and reliability of mechanical designs
- Work closely with electrical and software teams to ensure seamless integration of mechanical, electrical and control systems
- Create and maintain detailed design documentation, including drawings, part specifications and bills of materials (BOMs)

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

- Completed degree in mechanical engineering, robotics, electrical engineering, robotics or a related field
- At least 5 years of experience working on robotics systems, mobile machinery or similar products
- Proven experience designing complex mechanical systems and solid knowledge of robot kinematics, mechanical and electrical components, and the integration of these components into a robotics system
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing techniques to ensure manufacturability for mid and high volume manufacturing
- Ideally, you have already completed a full product lifecycle with another hardware product, and have a deep understanding of the design process, as well as a passion for getting hands-on building and troubleshooting prototypes
- Experience with relevant CAD programmes (particularly, Autodesk Fusion / Eagle)

HOW TO APPLY

Don't shy away from applying even if you don't meet all the points today. They are only meant as a guide and we value potential over experience.

At N Robotics, we strive to have a diverse team that represents the community. Since studies have shown that women and people of color, in particular, are less likely to apply for jobs if they don't meet every single qualification, we want to encourage these groups of people: If the job excites you, but your previous experience doesn't perfectly match the qualifications we're looking for, we're still very happy to receive your application! What counts for us is the motivation behind the application as well as the openness to learn new things. We also explicitly want to encourage people of different nationalities, regardless of their cultural and social background, age, religion, gender, or sexual identity to apply. If you feel addressed, please send us your cover letter, resume, grades overview as well as your availability.

We look forward to receiving your application and wish you every success!
